Description
High Purity Dysprosium Oxide Dy2O3, Dy2O3/REO≥ 99.5%, 99.9%, 99.95%, a white powder with melting point 2340°C and density 7.81g/cm3, is insoluble in water but soluble in acid and ethyl alcohol and slightly hygroscopic. Dysprosium Oxide Dy2O3 can absorb water and carbon dioxide in the air to become dysprosium carbonate and has strong magnetism. Dy2O3 should be kept in ventilated and dry warehouse with sealed package to avoid moisture and air leakage. Dysprosium Oxide Dy2O3 is used for making dysprosium metal, glass, permanent neodymium ferroboron magnet additives, metal halide lamp and magneto-optic memory materials. And also found the application in atomic energy industry as the control rods of nuclear reactor, the essential element of Terfenol-D alloy.
