Holmium Oxide

Description

High Purity Holmium Oxide Ho₂O₃ 99.9% 99.99%, a yellow powder, melting point 2367°C, density 8.36g/cm³, is insoluble in water, but soluble in acid. Holmium Oxide Ho₂O₃ is  one of the strongest paramagnetic substances. Ho₂O₃ should be stored in cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse with the container tightly closed, and away from moisture and air exposure. Holmium Oxide Ho₂O₃ is mainly used in the manufacturing of new type of light source dysprosium holmium lamp, also as additive for the preparation of metal Holmium yttrium iron by yttrium aluminum garnet, fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, fiber sensor, additives for laser crystal and glass colorant etc. The visible absorption spectra of glass and solutions containing holmium oxide have a series of sharp peaks, which have been traditionally used as calibration standard for spectrometers.
