Description
Lithium Borate, white powder or pellet solid appearance, melting point 760-880°C, is an inorganic compound with different formula Li2B4O7 (LiT), LiBO2 (LiM), LBO6733 and LBO1222 etc, and moderately soluble in water. It is harmful for eyes, respiratory system and skin, which should be stored in dry and cool place with sealed container. With uniform size and good fluidity, Lithium Borate 99.99% is mainly used as flux for X-rays fluorescence analysis to prepare vitrescene substance. It is suggested to fuse CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, K2O, MgO, P2O5 and sulfides etc, and also finds application in metal refinery, enamel manufacture, ceramics, glasses making, advanced material research and development. meanwhile, the blending of different ratio Lithium Borate is more interesting, such as Lithium Tetraborate (LiT) Li2B4O7 melts at 920°C and has the highest melting point of common fluxes, Lithium Metaborate (LiM) LiBO2 melts at 845°C, but LiT/LiM blends melt at lower temperatures.
