The World Semiconductor Conference kicked off in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, yesterday, showcasing the innovative technology and applications in the sector from home and abroad.
Over 300 exhibitors have taken part in the conference, including industry leaders – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), Synopsys Inc and Montage Technology.
Statistics show that the global sales volume of semiconductor products was $123.1 billion in the first quarter, up 17.8 percent year-on-year.
In China, the integrated circuit industry generated 173.93 billion ($27.24 billion) of sales in Q1, an increase of 18.1 percent from a year earlier.
The World Semiconductor Council (WSC) is an international forum that brings together industry leaders to address issues of global concern to the semiconductor industry. Comprised of the semiconductor industry associations (SIAs) of the United States, Korea, Japan, Europe, China and Chinese Taipei, the goal of the WSC is to promote international cooperation in the semiconductor sector in order to facilitate the healthy growth of the industry from a long-term, global perspective.
